*The Robert L. Powell Library*: Course Reserves

Discover who we are and what we can do for you at The Master's University, Robert L. Powell Library.

Reserve Materials

This is a special collection located behind the circulation desk.  Faculty ask the library staff to set aside course required reading, listening or viewing materials for use by students enrolled in their courses.  This ensures all students in the class will have access to the materials without forcing the student to purchase the designated items.

The late fine for reserve materials is $1.00 per minute.

There are two types of Reserve Materials: Regular Reserves and STRICT Reserves.

Reserve LabelRegular Reserves may be checked out for three hours and may be used in the library or taken out of the library. While the library is open, each student may check out one item at a time and the student's ID card will be held at the circulation desk. However, multiple Regular Reserve items may be checked out for use after hours. Student ID cards will not be held for these overnight checkouts. Overnight checkouts must be returned within three hours of the library re-opening. For example, regular reserve items taken out of the library at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday (one hour before closing), must be returned no later than 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (within two hours of the library opening).  The $1 per minute late fee applies.

Strict Reserve Label

STRICT Reserves may only be used in the library. They may not be taken out of the library at all. The patron's ID will be held until the "STRICT" reserve item is returned.
