SPECIAL SERVICES

LIBRARY TO PATRON DELIVERY SERVICES

Because Public Libraries around the country are closed, the Powell Library has instituted a Library to Patron Delivery Service. For students currently enrolled in TMU Online programs and who reside in the contiguous United States, the library will send requested items directly to the student at the library’s expense. The student is then responsible for returning the item(s) to the library at the student’s expense. The items must be received by the library on or before their respective due dates or incur overdue fines. Two renewals per item are permitted.

This only applies to those items already in the Powell Library Collection.

Book Scanning Service

The Copyright Law Fair Use exemption does permit more extensive scanning as part of a legitimate response to a public health emergency such as this one. Therefore,

a. --Book chapters/sections can be scanned and delivered electronically to current TMU students and faculty upon request.

b. --Please only request materials where a print copy is available from the library.

c. --Please limit your request to only those portions that are needed for full participation in your courses.

d. --Email Mrs. McClenahan, wmcclenahan@masters.edu with your scanning requests. Include the call number, author, title and selected chapters or page numbers.

Book Pick-Up Service

The library is open to students, faculty and staff of The Master's University & Seminary. Those who prefer not entering the library, may request items (books, audio recordings, DVDs, etc.) for pick-up in front of the library. Email the circulation manager Wendy McClenahan at wmcclenahan@masters.edu and schedule a pick-up time. Mrs. McClenahan will send an email confirming the items are ready for pick-up. Picking up books may be done daily, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  Checked out items may be returned through the outside book return which is open 24/7. PLEASE NOTE: those who are taking advantage of the Pick-up Service, must return their items on or before their respective dues dates or incur the normal overdue fines.

InterLibrary Loan Services

INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICES (ILL) is still possible albeit somewhat delayed. Be sure to Sign in with your Library Patron Account to authenticate your access to ILL. Here is a short video on creating your Library Patron Account, if you have not already done so.

For students who reside outside of the Santa Clarita Valley:

-ILL requests can be made for selected chapters or pages from books as well as articles not held by the Powell Library.

-ILL requests cannot be made for whole books not held by the Powell Library.
