This site has varying lesson plans and activities, including ideas for a first class, encouraging learner autonomy, business English and teaching culture.

ESLGold. https://eslgold.com/.

This is a more professional site, geared toward teaching English to adults and older students. It has sections on grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Lanternfish. https://bogglesworldesl.com/.

This site is mainly geared toward TESOL for kids, though there are some resources for adults. It has everything from lesson plans to holiday worksheets, songs to flash cards.

English as a Second Languagehttps://www.rong-chang.com/.

This site provides activities for both beginner and intermediate level learners. The activities include conversations, stories, grammar practice, and other exercises.

Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab. https://www.esl-lab.com/.

           This site contains audio/video segments and comprehension quizzes on a myriad of topics of varying lengths and abilities.

UsingEnglish.comhttps://www.usingenglish.com/.

           Also more professional, this site has resources on a variety of areas, including quizzes, irregular verbs references, lesson plans, and handouts.

Wise Sayings ESL Resource Guide. http://www.wiseoldsayings.com/esl-guide/ 

Students or teachers of ESL can find some worthwhile links that will help ESL students develop their English language academic skills.  Within this collection are over 40 helpful resources that include general resources, self-study links, ESL lesson plans, learning strategies, games, blogs and more.

Axtell, Roger E. (2009). Do’s and Taboos of Using English Around the World. Castle Books. 

Offers insight and advice concerning: differences between American English and world English, social conventions, and appropriate phrases in contexts. An English learner would probably find this information useful, particularly in preparing to travel to English-speaking countries.

Christodoulou, Niki. (2016). Reflective Development Through the Care Model: Empowering Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. Newcastle upon Tyne, UK: Cambridge Scholars Publishing.

This book proposes a new and practical model for engaging teachers in transformational learning through an ‘emotionalized'version of reflection. More specifically, the Collaborative, Appreciative, Reflective Enquiry (CARE) model represents a guide for teachers who wish to engage in reflective practice alone and with others in an appreciative context. As such, this book will be invaluable to in-service language teachers and teacher educators who are committed to realizing their potential as educators and human beings through growth that only emancipatory reflection and positive emotionality can bring.

Hussain, Zareena D. (2023). Incorporating ChatGPT in the ESL Composition Classroom: A Literature Review and Teacher Experimentation in a Sri Lankan Context. Colombo: Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).

This is a review of the findings from recent research on ChatGPT in education and its impact on language education with a focus on teaching ESL writing.  The practical suggestions from the literature were implemented and found to be practical and productive. This highlighted the need for integrating ChatGPT in ESL writing activities and for building teacher expertise in this regard.
